Sr High Mission Trip

July 18-25
Harlan, KY

I plan to ask for prayer over the trip and the participants during the 1st service on Sunday the 18th and then leave after 1st service is over. I plan to return by the time that 2nd service lets out (12pm) on Sunday the 25th. This is make one less trip for parents to make that day.
It is a 9 hour drive. Almost to the minute. That means that we'll be driving until about 8pm on the way there and needing to leave in the wee hours of the morning for the trip back. But this will allow for many peaceful driving hours as the youth will be asleep.
We are renting vans. Currently I have 3 vans rented to transport our 30 people down to KY. One 10 passenger and two 12 passenger vans. They are Sprinter vans and run on diesel. It's the best gas mileage we'll get and there are much roomier than normal vans. They also each have 6 feet of cargo space in the back. Plenty of gear room. Leaders will drive (obviously) and we will switch off (no one will drive the entire time) and I will require an awake (and hopefully alert) co-pilot that is a leader during our driving time.

To raise money we are doing some fundraisers:

Youth Babysitting Fundraiser - May 22
Car Wash - June 12

We currently have 20 kids and 10 leaders signed up and going!

Family Movie Night

September 3rd

Showtime: 7pm
Estimated end time: 9 - 9:30pm

Why are we hosting this event? Because we think that it is important to bring families together, specifically our youth and their parents, at an event that both students and adults can have fun at. As I was growing up every now and then, my family would have "family nights" where we would watch a movie and eat dinner together. I remember them fondly and hope that this night will be fun for your family.

Youth Publication Survey

A goal I have this summer is to have the Voice be as cutting edge as possible and include the youth in as much of the development as possible.
